What food system challenge do you want to help solve?

Transforming our food systems isn’t just about fresh ideas, it’s about collaboration, experimentation, and driving change together. That’s the driving force behind Geek4Food’s Foodathon.
This dynamic, fully online innovation sprint invites Master’s and PhD students, early-career professionals, and forward-thinking minds to join forces on real-world food challenges, and shape practical solutions that can scale.
Dive into one of three challenge areas, and approach it with an entrepreneurial lens:
- Sustainable food packaging design
- Advancing fermentation processes
- Turning legume by-products and waste into value
Here’s how the experience unfolds:
- 19–20 September – Community launch & team formation
- 21 Sept–10 Oct – Develop your ideas collaboratively
- 10–12 October – Hackathon & final presentations
Participation is free and open to changemakers across Europe. Winning teams will pitch live at the GEEK4Food event in Brussels on 28 November 2025. Curious? Find all the details and apply here. Questions? Contact us! More info. Let’s co-create the future of food.
