WEF Global Foresight Network Retreat in Geneva

WEF Global Foresight Network Retreat in Geneva

How do you prepare for a world that refuses to stand still? This June, top futurists, strategy directors, and macro-strategists gathered at the iconic, post-war modernist Villa Mundi at the World Economic Forum (WEF) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Among them was Kacper Nosarzewski, partner at 4CF The Futures Literacy Company and expert for the WEF.

The annual WEF Global Foresight Network Retreat operates on an “open agenda” format, allowing the world’s leading foresight professionals to co-create their focus areas each morning.

While the retreat is inherently international, this year featured a strong, collaborative presence from the Polish strategic foresight ecosystem. Nosarzewski was joined by prominent macro-strategists and economists Dr. Ewa Lombard and Dr. Rafał Kierzenkowski. Kacper Nosarzewski’s participation in the event was supported by the National Institute of Freedom (NIW).

Rather than focusing purely on immediate market fluctuations, the Geneva retreat zoomed out to evaluate deep, paradigm-shifting fields. Four specific areas dominated the morning open agendas: Neurosciences and Cognitive Frontier, Digital Religions and Tech-Belief Ecosystems, Technological Sovereignty, and Shifting Demographics.

As discussed during the retreat, the future is not something that simply happens to us; it is a landscape we actively map and build.
