The great office experiment of the 21st century
Two steps into the future of commercial real estate and three hypotheses on the “great office experiment of the 21st century”, all focused on the medium-term perspective. The first hypothesis – let’s call it “cyberpunk”– assumes the corporate fusion of office and living spaces. In the second one, “nest”, the same fusion takes place in a cooperative model. This scenario describes an increasing number of specialists without employment contracts who create their own family/work communes, organised, e.g., as cooperatives. The third hypothesis, “retrofitting”, is a vision where the fusion of office and living spaces occurs under the pressure of environmental regulations.
