The Future of CO₂
The Future of CO₂
The latest report by 4CF The Futures Literacy Company highlights the growing importance of CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) technologies in the pursuit of net-zero emissions. While progress has been slow over the years, recent technological advancements and increased government support are driving a new wave of momentum. What could help to change the game for CCUS?
Yet, significant challenges remain—high costs of CO₂ capture, transport, and storage, along with the need for massive infrastructure investments, make large-scale deployment of CCUS a complex task.
Breaking these barriers will require further innovation, strong policy support, and increased funding. Public education and social acceptance are also essential for CCUS to become a viable solution in the fight against climate change.
Are we ready for a CCUS-powered future? This question will shape our path toward net-zero emissions in the coming years.
