Bartosz Frąckowiak and Michał Nadziak of 4CF spent the last few days in Reykjavik, Iceland, where a conference on the future of democracy, organised by the World Futures Studies Federation, took place. We will present the conclusions of this meeting and next steps soon, and in the meantime let our colleagues enjoy the sunny day and the volcanic landscape in the island’s frigid interiors.
The conference explored possible ‘Democracy+’ scenarios and posed questions about the norms of a social contract 2.0 for the 21st century using foresight methods. It was a kind of ‘foresight camp’, with an active, participatory format. It was personally inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Iceland, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, and ended with a workshop prepared by our company.
