Navigating Tomorrow’s Competencies
Navigating Tomorrow’s Competencies
Can we speak of real, long-term change when it comes to the results of our efforts?
In 2025, Robisz.to FabLab, powered by the Orange Foundation in Warsaw, launched the “Jobs of Tomorrow” project. The mission was to equip participants with future-ready technical skills, from 2D/3D design, CNC machining, and 3D printing, to electronics and carpentry.
No prior experience was needed. Starting completely from scratch, participants leaned on the incredible team of educators while sharpening critical soft skills like teamwork, project management, and circular design. The result? Twelve graduate makers, split into four teams, built innovative, real-world prototypes tailored to the needs of local social organizations and companies.
To understand the deeper impact of this initiative, a comprehensive report titled “FabLab as a Navigator of Tomorrow’s Competencies” (available in English and Polish) was developed by Katarzyna Figiel and Michał Nadziak from 4CF The Futures Literacy Company.
The report analyzes the vital role FabLabs play amidst profound labor market shifts. It serves as a lens for socio-economic change, examining how, in the age of digital and energy transformation, one can build the resilience of local communities and develop professional competencies for which demand is only beginning to emerge. It frames this work as an early, powerful harbinger of what will soon become significant global market trends.
Curious about the findings? If you want to discover how these activities measure up against the real-world challenges faced by young professionals and career-changers today, we highly encourage you to dive into the full text. This impactful project was proudly carried out in collaboration with the Orange Foundation.
