More-than-Human World

More-than-Human World

On January 30, the “New Solidarities in the More-than-Human World” event will take place at the University of Gdańsk, featuring Kacper Nosarzewski from 4CF The Futures Literacy Company.

This initiative fosters open, transnational collaboration between academia, artistic communities, and NGOs to explore how we can create new, alternative scenarios for life on our planet in the turbulent 21st century.

“In times of rapid change and uncertainty, strategic foresight urges us to consider not only human relationships but also our interactions with the planet’s entire ecosystem — on material, intellectual, and spiritual levels. This includes artificial intelligence and new life forms that synthetic biology may create. Embracing these diverse perspectives is key to building a sustainable and harmonious future.” – said Kacper Nosarzewski.

How should cultural institutions evolve in an era where solidarity transcends species boundaries?

Special Guests:

  • Prof. Alex Taek-Gwang Lee (Kyung Hee University, South Korea)

  • Prof. Rick Dolphijn (Utrecht University, Netherlands)

Following the inspiring lectures, a panel discussion will feature:

  • Martyna Jastrzębska | Intermedia Studio I, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk

  • Bartosz Rief | European Solidarity Centre

  • Kacper Nosarzewski | 4CF The Futures Literacy Company

  • Irena Chawrilska | More-than-Human Studies Lab UG

We will discuss how cultural institutions can become spaces for inter-species solidarity and responsibility for a more-than-human world. This unique event invites us to reflect on human relationships with other life forms and explore how culture can promote sustainability.
