Future of Labour and Technology 2050: The Millennium Project workshop
Automation, robotisation and artificial intelligence are the primary themes in discussions about the future of labour. These processes — preceded by mechanisation — began in the last century, but their development has gained momentum in recent years. The relevant technologies are displaying increased quality and efficiency. As experts point out, attempts to stop the global changes will not be effective, and local attempts to slow down the transformation may carry more risks than benefits.
How to adapt to the future labour market? According to experts who participated in the Future of Labour & Technology 2050 conference and workshop, organised by 4CF (the Polish node of The Millennium Project global think-tank) and the Institute of Labor and Social Affairs, the labour market may be completely transformed in the future. The workshop, designed by 4CF experts, took place at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw on June 30, 2017. The event was attended by scientists, members of the Polish Society for Futures Studies, trade union activists, entrepreneurs and students of the Leadership School of the Freedom Institute. The Workshop focused on the analysis of The Millennium Project’s futures scenarios for the labour market.
A workshop report will soon be available on our website and the co-organisers’ portal: IPiSS.
