The event brought together more than thirty foresight practitioners and R&I policy-makers from across Europe, among them Anna Sacio-Szymańska of 4CF The Futures Literacy Company. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the many faces of foresight across Europe and to celebrate the diversity of approaches that shape how we anticipate and plan for the future.

Through a series of keynotes and case studies, we explored how foresight contributes to future-oriented policymaking and societal dialogue in Moldova, Romania, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Czechia, Austria, France, and at the European level. These exchanges sparked lively debates and collaborative thinking during two interactive sessions and reminded us how much we can learn from each other’s practices. 

Anna Sacio-Szymańska presented “Foresight Culture in Poland – National Development Concept 2050”, sharing insights from Poland’s National Development Concept 2050, exploring how long-term strategic foresight is shaping the nation’s vision for the future. 

The Eye of Europe initiative works to integrate foresight into Research & Innovation policymaking across Europe — building a collaborative, future-oriented community through mutual learning, knowledge sharing, and collective intelligence.
