Foresight Workshops with Flokk Polska

At the invitation of Flokk Polska, Katarzyna Figiel from 4CF The Futures Literacy Company led a series of unique, three-hour foresight workshops tailored for architects and interior designers. The tour spanned across Poland, from Katowice to Gdańsk, bringing together a highly creative and open-minded group of professionals.

A major highlight of the tour was the event at the COBU Design showroom in Katowice, where over 30 architects gathered. Participants stepped outside their daily design routines to examine workspaces from the perspective of the year 2050. The workflow was based on four future scenarios, ranging from a corporate-dominated world to decentralized, hybrid hubs. Each scenario raised different questions about the role of work, technology, relationships, and community.

During the hands-on sessions, the architects developed their skills in working with scenarios and analyzing weak signals of change. They creatively and manually designed artifacts from the future, alongside empathy maps embedded in future work realities. This allowed everyone to genuinely experience what life might look like in 2050. By breaking away from conventional limitations, participants were able to identify elements that often remain invisible in traditional design processes.
