Corporate Foresight: Nokia
Corporate Foresight: Nokia
Let’s have a brief look at brands using foresight. Today, it’s Nokia.
Many large and forward-thinking companies have established capacities specialising in strategic foresight, scenario planning, and trend analysis. These teams or individuals are responsible for identifying emerging trends, potential disruptors, and long-term opportunities and threats, actively contributing to the corporate long-term strategies. While it’s challenging to provide an exhaustive list, we present a series of examples of companies known for their investment in foresight activities helping them to achieve long term goals and desired futures.
Quite recently, Nokia presented its Technology Strategy 2030 that identifies trends and emerging technologies that will shape technology, networks and the world for the next seven years. There are so many reports and insights and future-focused web pages, you can get lost in Nokia’s thought leadership section. Look for Nokia Technology Strategy 2030, Nokia Technology Vision 2030, Nokia Trend Report 4, Global Network Traffic 2030, From Blockchain to Web3, Nokia Thought Leadership, Nokia Bell Labs.
The company also has a foresight manager – Arho Suominen, Nokia’s Business Analytics & Foresight Manager, who is working to improve strategic decision-making at Nokia with actionable business analytics and foresight. He strives to highlight critical issues arising beyond the horizon, identify and raise critical issues with long-term impacts and create the supporting analysis to have executive buy-in.
