Are our security systems ready for quantum computers? That’s exactly why the POSEIDON project matters so much. The development of quantum technologies may accelerate data processing and problem-solving, but at the same time it threatens today’s encryption methods.
A real “harvest now, decrypt later” risk is emerging: data intercepted today could be exposed in the future. This threat concerns not only data, but also the foundations of European digital identity and the systems that manage it.
