Digitization in Museums
Katarzyna Figiel from 4CF The Futures Literacy Company was a speaker at the conference “Digitization in Museums – Discussion Forum – Data Durability,” organized by the National Institute of Museums with the support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. She delivered a presentation titled “In Search of a Durable Information Carrier – A Look into the Future.”
“In the era of digitization and continuous technological development, the question of data carrier durability is becoming a key challenge for the future of museums. While traditional methods of storing our collections sufficed for centuries, today we must think about long-term data storage in a way that withstands the test of time. Innovations like quantum memory, blockchain, or DNA offer new possibilities, but they also require thoughtful implementation strategies and an understanding of their potential limitations and risks.”
