Food Waste
Food Waste
A large hotel in Poland throws away food each year worth the equivalent of three Porsche cars! This is just a fraction of a global issue, as according to the UN, a staggering one-third of all food worldwide—about 1.3 billion tons annually, valued at $1 trillion—goes to waste. In Poland alone, 4.8 million tons of food end up in the trash, despite 2.5 million people living in poverty.
In an interview with XYZ, Kacper Nosarzewski, board member of the Polish Society for Futures Studies and partner at 4CF, highlights innovative ways to repurpose food waste but poses a critical question: “Is this truly beneficial and desirable?” Are we ready for meaningful change?
