Futurist of the Year 2024 congress has taken place in Warsaw, opened by Nobel laureate Prof. Didier Queloz of the University of Cambridge and attended by esteemed scientists, futurists (Gerd Leonhard, Jonathan Brill, Thomas Frey CSP, Prof. Peter Bishop of Teach the Future, Gary A. Bolles) and other specialists from Poland and abroad.
The future of artificial intelligence, finance, science and education formed the core of the speakers’ presentations. They talked about how to prepare an organisation for the era of automation, AI regulation and ethical issues. They also touched on the impact of AI on defence, democracy, finance and economic forecasts. The speakers considered the future of learning, science and education and the impact of AI and other exponential technologies on these fields.
Panellists included representatives from the University of Oxford: Prof. Nick Bostrom, Prof. Mariarosaria Taddeo, Prof. John Tasioulas, Harvard University: Dr. Michael L. Brodie, Dr. Mark Esposito, PhD, University of Vienna: Prof. Mark Coeckelbergh, University of Warsaw: Prof. Andrzej Dragan, Jagiellonian College in Torun: Prof. Grzegorz Górski, University of Pretoria : Prof. Weseley Rosslyn-Smith, SGMK Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School in Torun: Sasa Horvat, Dr. Jakub Morze, Dr. Piotr Międlar, University of Navarra: Lena Nowaczek, The City University of New York: Prof. Konrad Raczkowski, University of Rhode Island: M.Sc.Eng. Nikola Bukowiecka, as well as representatives of other associations and institutions.
4CF The Futures Literacy Company, a leading Polish foresight company, represented by Kacper Nosarzewski, was also present at the congress.
