FAO presented the first findings of a foresight and horizon scanning exercise on the future of agri-food systems conducted jointly with CIRAD and 4CF The Futures Literacy Company at the World Investment Forum in Abu Dhabi. Among other things, the report identifies desirable directions for technological and social innovation in global agriculture.
At the Forum, FAO called on both governmental and corporate entities to increase their commitment and financial support for agrifood systems. This represents the sole path towards rendering agrifood systems more effective, all-encompassing, robust, and environmentally responsible, thereby aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
