200 leaders urge the UN to coordinate global research and prevent human extinction

Two hundred leaders urge the United Nations to coordinate global research and prevent human extinction. Among the signatories are Internet pioneer Vint Cerf, Nobel Prize winner Oscar Arias, the Polish Society for Futures Studies and 4CF Strategic Foresight.

The Millennium Project, the World Futures Studies Federation and the Association of Professional Futurists warn that the weakening of the Earth’s magnetic field, hydrogen sulfide poisoning of the oceans, out-of-control nanotechnology and artificial intelligence are possible future threats to humanity.
