Task
The Pomeranian Voivodeship commissioned 4CF The Futures Literacy Company to conduct a study titled “Pomerania on Light Gas – Directions and Scenarios for Developing the Hydrogen Economy by 2030 with a Perspective to 2040”. The study aimed to:
- Diagnose the current state of the hydrogen economy in the Pomeranian Voivodeship;
- Define scenario-based perspectives for the development of the hydrogen economy in the region;
- Establish a vision and mission for the hydrogen economy in Pomerania;
- Consult analyses and materials with stakeholders in the hydrogen economy;
- Support deeper integration of individual business, scientific, and local government entities, as well as the entire hydrogen ecosystem, with global hydrogen value chains.
Solution
The study was conducted in three stages:
- Diagnosis of the current state of the hydrogen economy in the Pomeranian Voivodeship;
- Scenarios for the development of the hydrogen economy in the region;
- Vision and mission for the hydrogen economy in Pomerania.
As part of the project, researchers assessed the awareness of Pomeranian entrepreneurs regarding the green transition and conducted an in-depth analysis of stakeholders in the hydrogen economy, identifying their needs. Workshops were also held, allowing stakeholders to consult the scenarios, contribute to the proposed vision and mission, and provide input for strategic actions that the Pomeranian Voivodeship should undertake to build a robust hydrogen economy ecosystem.
Effect
The project culminated in the report “Pomerania on Light Gas – Directions and Scenarios for Developing the Hydrogen Economy by 2030 with a Perspective to 2040.” This document details the findings of the research conducted, presents scenarios for the development of the hydrogen economy and its environment in Pomerania, and outlines a proposed vision and mission for the voivodeship’s hydrogen economy. It also includes recommendations for strategic actions that would foster the creation of a sustainable hydrogen economy in the region.
